We work closely with the community and healthcare providers to ensure the best possible care for our members.

Hospitals

Hunter Health Insurance hospitals contracts are negotiated by Australian Regional Health Group.

Hunter Health Insurance is registered on Eclipse as CDH.

Medical Providers

As a rule, Hunter Health Insurance will finalise payments once Medicare makes their payment to us.

Hunter Health Insurance works from the commonwealth schedule fee with the multiple procedure rule for all operations.

  1. First item, if greater than $200 a 50% payment over the schedule fee, if lower than $200 a 20% payment over the schedule fee
  2. Second item MBS rate is divided by 2. If greater than $200 a 50% payment over the divided schedule fee, lower than $200 a 20% payment over divided schedule fee
  3. Subsequent items MBS rate is divided by 4. If greater than $200 a 50% payment over the divided schedule fee, lower than $200 a 20% payment over divided schedule fee

Pathology and Radiology Services items are paid at the scheduled fee.

Anaesthetics items numbers are all 50% over the schedule fee except item numbers with a prefix of 17 (e.g 17610) and 18 numbers which are 20% over the MBS fee.

Generally, MBS items over $200 will receive a payment 50% over the scheduled fee and where under $200 will receive a payment of 20% over the scheduled fee.

Registering Providers

The Australian Regional Health Group (ARHG) are handling all provider applications on behalf of Hunter Health Insurance. (Our Eclipse ID is CDH).

ARHG member funds will not accept provider registrations directly from medical providers. Provider Registrations are no longer accepted by email, post or fax.

Existing providers

To update provider details including bank details please complete the Registration Form on the Register Now link above. If you are updating details due to an invoice being issued, please allow 24 hours before submitting the claim.

 

Please note if you are not registered prior to submitting claims you will only receive benefit to the MBS Schedule Fee.
